Stage 1: Online Application

  • Apply online via the Lufthansa Group Careers portal
  • Upload CV/resume (in German or English)
  • Language requirement: fluent German + business-level English
  • Minimum age 18; high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum height 160 cm
  • Able to swim; EU or German work-eligibility visa
TIP: Lufthansa requires fluent German. Submitting your application in German is advantageous. Use a clean, concise German CV format.

Stage 2: Digital English Test

Online English Proficiency Assessment
  • Online written and listening English test
  • Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension and listening
  • Includes business English and aviation-related vocabulary
  • Successful candidates are invited to the Assessment Day
TIP: Precise grammar and a wide vocabulary are essential. Prepare expressions commonly used in passenger-service contexts.

Stage 3: Assessment Day (Group Stage)

Up to 8 hours · Group Activities · Psychometric Tests · Roleplay
  • Held in Frankfurt or Munich
  • Icebreaker and self-introduction (in German and English)
  • Group discussion and problem-solving task
  • Psychometric ability test
  • In-flight service scenario roleplay
  • Reach test and swimming-ability check
  • Cutoffs are made at each stage
TIP: The Assessment Day is a full-day evaluation; even break-time conduct is observed. In the group task, active listening and respect are key — German culture values precision and cooperation.

Stage 4: Final Interview (1:1)

In-Depth Interview · 30–40 min · German + English
  • 1:1 or 1:2 personal interview (30–40 minutes)

TIP: The Final Interview is decisive. Connect Lufthansa's service principles (Reliability · Quality · Safety) to your own experience. You must switch naturally between German and English.

Stage 5: Medical Check · Background Verification

Physical Examination · Background Check · Final Confirmation
  • Medical examination at a Lufthansa-designated aviation medical institute
  • Vision, hearing, cardiovascular, and swimming checks
  • Criminal record and financial credit checks
  • Previous employment history and reference checks
  • Final offer notification
  • Approximately 6–8 weeks of training in Frankfurt
TIP: Background verification is rigorous. Prepare your passport, visa, academic records, and previous-employer references in advance. Confirm your swimming ability (200 m+) ahead of time.
